I agree with some of the other listers that  suspect an ignition problem. I 
would suggest that you first check  for a spark from one of the plugs. I f no 
spark, work your way back to the distributor. Check  the rotor to see if it is 
turning and  also that it is not cracked (been a lot of that lately with 
Healeys).  Also check your points for proper gap.If the rotor is turning , 
check 
the timing. If the rotor is not turning when you crank, you might have a 
distributor shaft problem.
I had a similiar problem develop, and finally learned that the distributor 
shaft was not turning because the driving dog retaining pin  sheared itself off.
