Turn Signal Cancelling

Ok, I don't so much mind that they don't cancel, or that I can't see
the dash light that's supposed to remind me. But I'd be a lot happier
if the left side worked as well as the right! I've tried all the
bulbs, flasher, etc. with no betterment. But I'm a little worried
about opening the "trafficator"....Advice?
