Seat Rails

When my car was restored the PO put in new floors. he also fitted the seats 
incorrectly.

I now have correct seats and want to ensure they are in the correct postion but 
do not have the holes in the floor to guide me.

How do I ensure the rails are in the right position. How far are they from the 
door sill etc and tunnel etc.
