Mark,Our experience with the oiling issues is that it was a GT6 problem th=
at was resolved for TR6 engines. My wife's TR6 race engine seems perfectly =
happy without external oiling to the cam bearings and we also run an extern=
al oil line to the back of the head for the rockers. We haven't had any bea=
ring issues (we do have actual cam bearings, not just the bare borings), an=
d I know Allen Washatko ran the same setup on his somewhat hotter TR6. We h=
ave an Accusump plumbed into the blank fitting just above the oil filter ho=
using (it's a threaded aluminum plug that we drilled out). We run a stock o=
il pump with an extended pickup in a deepend pan and oiling hasn't been an =
issue at all. Email me back if you'd like to discuss or have me send some p=
hotos of our setup.

Inquiry about oil system for TR6 Race Engine.
Seems like this guy is a candidate for FOT.

Joe,

 =C2=A0

Thanks for the follow up.=C2=A0 Actually, it is an auxiliary external oil s=
ystem for the main bearings. =C2=A0=C2=A0I am exploring this as I understan=
d the main bearings in the TR6 do not receive adequate oil flow in race con=
ditions.=C2=A0 I currently have a BMW Spec E46 330Ci which has a robust eng=
ine and oil system.=C2=A0 So, the TR6 race engine is a new project for me.=
=C2=A0=C2=A0 I owned a =E2=80=9970 MG Midget and =E2=80=9970 TR6 =E2=80=9Cb=
ack in the day=E2=80=9D, but were street driven.

 =C2=A0

Attached are excerpts from the most recent version of Kastner=E2=80=99s Tri=
umph preparation manual (pages 130-135).=C2=A0 I included the section on oi=
l pumps through oil sump.=C2=A0 In the book, there is a discussion about th=
e external distribution hoses on the GT6, he mentions that he =E2=80=9Cstop=
ped all oil from going to the normal openings to the main gallery=E2=80=9D.=
=C2=A0 Also, I understand the black manifold in one of the pictures =E2=80=
=9Cmeters=E2=80=9D the oil flow. =C2=A0One of the pictures shows a feed lin=
e (the large black braided line) as going to the accusump.=C2=A0 =C2=A0It i=
s this black oil manifold that I cannot find a source or enough information=
even to ensure constructing it properly.=C2=A0 I want to avoid simply havi=
ng a tube with fittings made, then find it does not work as intended.=20

 =C2=A0

With regards to an oiler for the rocker arms, I see that there is heavy deb=
ate in most of the forums, many implying that it would starve the main bear=
ings.=C2=A0 There seems to be no consensus.

 =C2=A0

Anything you can provide would be helpful.

Thanks again,
