I seem to remember when Tim Suddard had purchased the Group 44 GT^ and =
he needed to have the information substantiated, Lanky Foushee had =
looked at it and could tell by several of the modifications he had =
performed on the car.
I think Lanky had passed away about 10 years ago and not sure if =
there=E2=80=99s another mechanic responsible for building the Group 44 =
cars. =20
Some of the things I remember they had found were the drilled hatch back =
hinges to lighten them, the eccentric suspension bushings to change =
camber and the rear leaf spring that could be moved side to side to =
change balance. These items may or may not be present on the Spit and =
might not be conclusive either, but it would be worth looking into.

The only way to know for sure is to ID the car by the logbook or, as =
Scott mentioned, by the SCCA stamp on the roll bar. With that info, you =
should be able to track the history of the car.
=20
Good luck!
=20
That cage looks pretty stout.

I=E2=80=99ve got a buddy in Oklahoma that bought a collection of crusty =
Triumphs including a Spitfire racer that supposedly is a Group 44 car. =
Any ideas how this claim could be verified? Photos attached.
