Roller cams and lifters are not a panacea. They have some severe
geometric limitations that no one seems to talk about. When I have tried
to create a decent lift curve for our engines, I end up with a convex
flank that cannot be ground with standard cam grinders. If I flatten the
flank, I get a mild low lift cam.
