#1- I've had all of my bearings treated (Polymer Dynamics Houston Tx) for d=
ecades.=20
They call out thickness @ .0002-.0004, I usually find about 2/10s (per shel=
l), so it sure does affect clearance.#2- I wouldn't touch the parting faces=
, unless there were obviously heavy deposits on the ends; it directly affec=
ts the crush or grip of the bearings, not so much the housing bore of the b=
earings dimensionally.
