Thanks for all the responses. I was concerned that with the Unilite electron=
ic ignition it might be a different process from points and that I might som=
ehow damage it. Apparently not, so I'll set it statically the way I always h=
ave.

s to my desired static timing on the compression stroke for #1 cyl (15 deg i=

ly rotate the dist body opposite the rotation of the rotor until the LED ind=
icates. Lock it down and you are set.
Otherwise, I'd set the crank damper timing marks to static timing value (on #=
1 compression stroke), then rotate the distributor body till the rotor point=
s at the #1 plug wire. That should be plenty close enough to get it fired u=
p- then fine tune with the timing light as normal.
