The question was not =E2=80=9Cwhat=E2=80=99s your favorite track as a =
driver=E2=80=9D but since I don=E2=80=99t generally spectate except F1 =
on television I=E2=80=99ll answer from the perspective of best overall =
experience. My favorite track is Sears Point. Fun to drive, great area, =
the old Wine Country race was great, it=E2=80=99s a bit too =
=E2=80=9CMonterey=E2=80=9D now since the organizers want it to outshine =
Monterey, so I=E2=80=99ll probably skip that and do the CSRG Charity =
Challenge instead. As Kas said, there are a lot of spots where you can =
almost everything.=20
Road America is my #2. Great track, great facilities, and Elkheart lake =
lives and breathes racing. I=E2=80=99d rank it a lot lower for =
spectating if your interest is seeing a lot of stuff simultaneous. =
It=E2=80=99s more like two curves for each viewing area. Big track.=20
Watkins Glen is #3. Again, a great track, lovely facilities though not =
quite the same friendliness and open character of Road America. Has all =
the same overarching character of Elkhart lake, but with a little less =
racing emphasis. Some good places to see the track with a more open view =
than RA.=20
Mosport is #4. Facilities are primitive but fun, long way from anywhere, =
but the nearby towns are nice. Challenging driving. You need a third =
testicle to drive it well. Never boring. You may find yourself sitting =
in your car after practice, wondering if this is really something you =
should do. I can=E2=80=99t imagine driving it on a wings and slicks car =
or a motorcycle. But they do.=20
VIR=E2=80=94great facilities, okay track. Hard to see a lot of the track =
at a time, but wow, do they put on a show.=20
Limerock=E2=80=94nice place, great area, track is kind of boring.=20
Laguna Seca=E2=80=94great corners connected by too much straight. Fun on =
a motorcycle or a big HP car, but for 2K pound, 150HP cars it=E2=80=99s =
not the best. Still, it=E2=80=99s a fun track but the monterey Historic =
(or whatever it=E2=80=99s called now) is more of a car show than a race. =
You spend a lot of time sitting around. Lots to see and do, but =
depeinding on whether you drive saturday or sunday you may not be able =
to do a lot of the most interesting things. Still, great show, car guys =
dream, but probably not every year anymore, like I used to do.=20
