Chris,
Is this OEM gear or aftermarket?....if there is an aftermarket offering.
What about hardening the mating gear?
Great to see the FOT LIST alive with valuable information.

Update:
After the hardening I can report some success!!
The teeth show NO wear anymore.
The contacting surface is glossy polished but no marks of teeth digging
into.
>From my point of view it should be advisable to plasma nitrate harden the
gear wheel to a depth of 0,2 mm.
Cheers
Chris

I would like to give an update:
I did a hardness check on the distributor gear:
HRC 38 to 43 (stock)
After plasma nitrating
48 - 54 HRC
So the surface is now harder and I'll report how the gear will behave.
Cheers
Chris
