On occasion, sometimes frequently, sometimes not, I whine and moan about
my duties as the chief Team.Net byte duster. Mostly it is just to vent some
frustration, in general I am happy to do what it is I do for all the
folks out
there.
One thing, though, does not happen very often, and I'm sure I've mentioned
it before, and it is one aspect of managing these lists that I really do not
like. I hate getting messages like this:
My husband, Joe was a subscriber to your list. Joe died last week.
I need to unsubscribe him from your list ...
Whether I knew the person or not, if they were on a list I read or not, it
doesn't really matter, it always makes me sad. Sometimes I do wish I
were just a heartless bastard - but then again, I wouldn't have kept
Team.Net alive for all these years if I were.
And speaking of all these years, December 11th, 1996 was the day the
very first FOT message went out. Thanks all of you for making this
list what it has become.
Happy Birthday to us.
mjb.
