Gotta agree with Aaron that even though I'm running the Spax, and haven't
had any problems with them, I'm not particularily pleased with them. The
fronts required a lot of work to make them fit right. I had to cut off the
spring mounts (they are cheesy) and make my own out of aluminum to fit
standard 2.25 inch springs. Also had to make a new upper mount to get any
travel out of them with a low ride height. I also agree that they don't
seem to do as much as I would like with adjustments.
Part numbers and sources for alternates would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Bob
I use AVO dampers.B rears are full rose bearing connections and front have
a rose bearing on the bottom and stock top with poly bushings.
front settings vary from 8-15 and the rears vary from 12-20 of the 24
positions.B
Remember your mileage will vary depending on springs, tires, and swaybars.
I had spax on my car for a while and didn't like them at all.B the
adjustability was not very good, the spitfire ones if i remember correctly
only adjust rebound (or bump i can't remember) and i was never able to
really see a differenct between the full soft setting and full hard
setting.B I also thought the adjustable spring perch was cheap.B it's a
collar welded on rather than a threaded body, the shaft is a small diameter.
I don't know much about the Koni's so I can't really say much about them
other than I know the adjustability is not able to be done with the damper
on the car.B you have to remove, compress, twist...

Konis all around. Full hard in back.
And thinking of sending them in to get revalved harder. Reason: Koni says it
results in better turn-in in front. When I reset the rears to full hard it
did give me better turn-in, just not enough yet.
