I agree with this. I run stock springs at rear, just with uprated shocks to
avoid too much hopping.

I should have read the replies before answering--could have saved my
breath--or at least my typing.
I do think that everyone tends to tie down the back end of production
racears way too much. People are always shocked when i bounce up and
down in Peyote's seat and the rear end bobs like a Galaxie with bad
shocks. Keep them soft so they stick and then go up front and
eliminate the understeer that a soft rear end causes. Of course the
reason I say that is least understeer won't generally snap spin you in
front of me.
