I have the perfect solution -- never sell your car. OK, maybe I can help in
addition to being a smartass. As you may remember, I have a 1972 GT6 and a
1974 Spit. Couldn't I hold my Spit bumper up to my GT6 and note any
differences? I'm assuming here that (a) the Spit and GT6 had the same bumpers
in any given year, and (b) the '74 bumper would be the same as the '73 bumper.

Subject: GT6 Bumper Trivia
Sitting in the garage here are a 1972 GT6 and 1973 GT6. The 1972 GT6
has a diffferent rear bumper than the 1973. The 1972 bumper is only slightly
physically larger than the 1973, the Triumph badge is clearly larger than the
1973, and it as has that optional /aftermarket extra bar hoop on it.
The 1973 bumper is damaged and needs to be replaced. If it is not the
right bumper, then I should not use it as the basis for getting a replacement.
However, the bumper and Triumph badge on the 1973 looks comparable to those
in some of the Triumph factory publicity photos. Was there a difference between
the 1972 and 1973 rear bumpers in size and badging?
This seems really trivial, and it is...except when you go to sell the
car and someone says that it has the wrong bumper.
