Just a quick 2-cents worth from a Spit racer. We've run a Holley blue pump 
since 1997 and Glen Efinger installed the Holley regulator a couple years ago 
when he did the engine (we'd been running a cheaper version) and we run about 
3-3.5 lbs fuel press. for twin 1 1/2" SU's. We use a Fram racing fuel filter 
and knock on wood, we've had no problems yet. I appreciate the comments on 
maintaining these though, good info!
