how an auction works?
Actually, there used to be a whacky guy here in Portland that constantly
advertised TR3s for sale with one at $2500. Looked about the same. He used
it as bait to get people to look at real LBCs that he had "restored". I
was at his place one day when a giant bucket of old bits came back from
the cad platers. New parts from old. I wouldn't buy a flat washer from the
guy. Finally sold out lock, stock and junker to some Japanese guys who
took every piece in his warehouse back to the land of the rising sun,
right down to odd parts that had fallen under workbenches. It looked like
some giant British parts magnet had been swept over the joint. Nothing but
cobwebs.
