In the TR-2,3,4 blocks, all of the tappet bores are offset from the centerline of each cam lobe. They are offset in pairs in opposite directions. So to grind the cams properly, 4 lobes must be tapered in one direction and the other 4 must be tapered in the other direction. This requires 2 setups on the cam grinder. There are not many cams ground this way. Having it done properly does make a difference in longevity, especially with high spring pressures. Regards, Greg Solow |
