Hi,
I'd like to re-frame Totten's question a bit.
Has anyone tried mating a TR6 gearbox to a Spitfire? I was thinking that
the TR6 gearbox would be quite a lot more robust than the Spitfire setup
with the added advantage that you can play with the gear ratios (with the
Dolly Sprint setup). It looks like it would be easy to modify the engine
plate or fabricate a new one that would work.
The only big problem is that the starter appears to be on the wrong side
(e.g. the TR6 starter is on the right side of the engine, and the spitfire
is on the left).
Comments?
We're talking about 1500cc Spitfire motors here, not the 1296 or 1147.
