Hello all,

What I found in fooling with the SU carbs is that all the Nissan needles
for the 1600 tend to be rich at idle and lean through the midrange. You
either put up with a slobbery idle or have a flat spot in the midrange. As the
needles and nozzles wear you can get both. After trying several different ones
I ended up with the British ADQ needle. It does not seem that they were ever
fit to a car that came to this country so they are not normally available
here. I order them 20 at a time, make a small mod necessary to the holder end,
and resell them to the roadster community. I use them in my refurbished carbs
and shipping is the same for 20 as for 2 so it works out well for everyone.
In my very stock 1600 these needles add a bit of snap to freeway acceleration
it never had before and the speedo will go way past 80 ; ).
