Temp Sensor / electric fan

Can anyone tell me the (metric) size/pitch of the threads for the temp sensor?
Used a head that's been off a car for a long time and somehow those threads
got damaged. It is a metric head, though I'm not sure the temp sensor threads
will be metric, since the water outlet above it seems to be same as the SAE
head I have.

Also, how much room is there between the rad and the water pump? I am going to
put in an electric fan and want to make sure it's not too thick.
