Static Timing on Boone Dizzy

Hey List,
Sorry I don't have anything to share that isn't Roaster-related, but here
goes.
Does anyone have info or comment on setting static timing on a Boone Dizzy?
I've always been able to static time my points distributor (preset timing
marks on crank, and turning dizzy to spark, you know). Is there a similar way
to do this with the EI? Don't want to invest in a timing light that I will
probably rarely use if I don't have to.
