I had these tyres on my roadster. I didn't think they were noisy at
all, but then, I couldn't hear much over the Weber induction roar and
exhaust noise on my car.
The tyres stick like the proverbial to a blanket. I broke an axle a
few months after fitting them (burnouts at the dragstrip and hillclimbs
probably helped as well). BTW, there was hardly any squealing on
burnouts or hard cornering. Tyres this sticky will cause a lot of extra
stress on drivetrain and suspension components so make sure everything
is in tip-top condition. Your leaf springs will flex more on corners
and increase the likelihood of tyres rubbing the bodywork. Urethane
bushes will counter that a little bit but add harshness and more noise.
On the road or the track however, the tyres were brilliant in the wet
and dry. On one of the local circuits where my laps times on
good/average street tyres were around 1.16, the 032Rs dropped that by
at least a couple of seconds, and that was without trying too hard.
Wear rates can be high. My rears were nearly gone after 5000 miles but
I think that was largely due to the reasons given above. I think you
could get 10,000 to 12,000 miles with less spirited driving.
