ATTENTION!!!
this is a subtle warning indeed!
Application of silicon sealant as a "quick fix" is fraught with problems.
Any excess is squeezed out as "silicon worms" and causes severe problems
elsewhere in the cooling system.
Believe me, I have been there!!
A "SMEAR" of silicon is all that is required, any more and the excess "does
it's own thing"!!
It is a great invention but has to be used very carefully to avoid problems.

Heavy applications of silicone will ruin any radiator so if you use
silicone, use it sparingly.
