I have just bought a set of these wheels. They are a perfect fit with no
rubbing on the guards at all. I run 195X14X65 tyres. They suit the
roadster period looks very nicely and the quality of the rims is
beautiful.

Gooday everybody,
with the Oz $ running at about your 74c, might I suggest you have a look
at
Performance Alloy Wheels.
They are made here in Adelaide, South Australia, and have a classic
Panasport "clone" that has been around for years, the Superlite.
They are clever to advertise custom offsets, PCDs and anything from 12 x
5"
to 15 x 8"
http://www.performancewheels.com.au/super_lite_wheels.htm
I would give my wife away for a nice set of genuine Watanabe alloys but
no
one wants her.
If all else fails, I reckon I'll get some Superlites for the '65 1500.
When I got it, it had a real dogs breakfast of rims on it and no trims
or
hubcaps.
As long as the alloys are "of the period" i.e. a classic style, the car
should still qualify for Classic Car Registration.

All,

For my $.02 's worth:

Earlier Jags & other Brit cars look great with them, Roadsters - no.
>From
the mechanical/handling standpoint: they quit using wire wheels because
they
were way too heavy. A lot of unsprung weight is not cool for handling.
Panasports look sweet, but too $$ for my blood. Will probably look for
minitite
knockoffs for mine. They have a nice "period" for mid to late 60''s
cars.
