Go to your local parts house. They will (or rather, should) have the proper
tool. It looks like a bent screw driver with a forked end. Feel around
under the panel until the fork is centered on the clip. Give the end of the
handle a good bump to insure that it is seated under the clip (otherwise it
will tear the cardboard) and push down. The clip will lift out without
damage to the cardboard.
