My name is Brian Dooley. I'm 29 and live in San Diego, Ca. To pay the bills
I sling cable. They tell me my actual title is computer and cable technician,
but basically I install the high speed internet for Cox here in San Diego. I
would consider myself a lucky individual. I married my high school sweetheart
who I have been with for eleven years now. We own a home and are now
expecting our first child in March of next year.
My auto experience started with my father and his Corvettes. He has owned
one since the day I was born and I learned how to drive on his '85. For some
reason though, I fell in love with the Z car in high school. I bought my
first one, a '77 280Z, at 17. I have owned that one and nine 240Z's since. I
am on my second Roadster and also own a 510 and 1200. All of my cars in
recent years have been heavily modified. In fact, I've been accused by some
of bastardizing them. To each his own I guess. I am rather proud of what
I've built. I just seem to have a hard time holding on to them. I now have
my eleventh 240 in my shop. This one will be getting an RB26dett from a
Skyline GT-R. This is one of several projects I have going on and is actually
a low priority. As some of you know, I have recently brought my '67.5 back to
life with an SR20det swap from a '92 Silvia. The car has several other mods
and really is what I am most proud of. As far as I know, this is the only
running SR20det powered Roadster in the U.S. I know that there are a few non
turbo versions out there, but no turbo's to my knowledge. My 510 is almost
complete and has been sitting by as I worked on the '67.5. It will be
recieving an SR20det as well. The 1200 I mentioned earlier will eventually be
a race car with a CA18det swap.
My love for Nissans has led me to start a fledgeling shop with my best
friend. We plan to offer the conversions I've mentioned above to others.
Mostly as drop in kits that any back yard mechanic can do. The high cost of
rebuilding or replacing the stock motors has led me to believe it is much
better to just go with a newer, and usually much more powerful, motor. Our
shop is called Fusion Autoworks.
Well, I've rambled on long enough. Thanks for listening.
                                                  Brian
