Hey List,
Found out from Ross today that my car body is going to need some help. Ross
and Dave have done some really incredible repairs to the rockers and caps
and have repaired my floorboards and have also repaired the front fenders
with some of Ross's repair patches. He is going to provide me with before
and after pics and I will post them for those interested.
However, my rear quarters and trunk floor will need a lot more help. The
left rear quarter is a goner. The outside lip is OK but the inside one is
toast. The right rear quarter can be repaired and I am glad of that as right
rear quarters can go for up to 1000.00. Yikes!
At sometime in its life, the trunk of my car was used to store a battery
which burst and ate through the floor in several places. Going to have to
cut it out and replace it with a donor floor.
It could have been much worse. All-in-all I feel pretty lucky that the body
was in as good a shape as it was.
Pics of the repairs will be posted as soon as I get them. Just another day
in restoration...
