My experience cost me a radar ticket.

On the 2000 SU carbs, just in front of the rear dashpot there is a fuel
connection with a vertical gasket between the two halves. I am not sure what
its purpose is because it has been a very long time since I messed with the
carbs and I am not that far in getting my car back into a derivable condition.
Anyway, I blipped the throttle between 2nd and 3rd and the adjustment screw
(idle I think) between the manifold and that vertical gasket hung up on that
gasket, holding the throttle wide open.. While I was accelerating at a rapid
rate I saw a radar rig flash by. I managed to free it before the cop stopped me
and I could not prove it then., The Datsun dealer mechanic would not verify it
in writing, so I ended up paying my one and only speeding ticket over a truly
stuck throttle. Make sure after you have played with all of your carb
adjustments that everything clears properly.
