Greetings,

I was wondering if anyone knew if the old style steering and
idler boxes could be swapped out for the newer style? That even a
shade tree mechanic could do? My '69 has the older style, but I
also have the used boxes off of a '70. Just wondering how hard it
would be.

p.s. on my vaporlocking pursuits: I haven't found any problems/-
solutions yet, altho researching the 'net brought up quite a
number of articles. Altitude IS a big factor (ref: EAA and auto-
gas articles), as is gas volatility - which varies between
states(!! another reason refiners can tack on a little more $$$),
and is changed between winter and summer. Those 2 issues alone seem
like they make a pretty good case for only certain states/altitudes
running into a vaporlock problem! Planning to find/try a small
electric fan pointed at the carbs. Will let you know if that
eliminates the problem or not!

thanks,
