Over Charging??

Hi everyone,
                    just been for a spin the roadster this afternoon. Noticed
that the amp gauge was at almost +30 amps for the whole trip. It goes back to
about zero at idle....does anyone think that I might have a regulator problem?
Voltage across the battery with the engine running is about 13.5 volts.
Everthing electrical works fine.
