Setting:  Car guys all standing looking at my custom with the 3.8 Buick
sitting pretty (Ok, a little ugly right now) in the engine bay.  We are
talking HP and torque numbers.
Turbo - about 300 HP with matching torque.  Best guess on this motor using
1/4 mile times from Buick's at the strip.  Remember, this is a carbed turbo
setup and not injected - no room for the IC and plumbing.
Non-turbo - about 250 HP with matching torque.  Good streetable, strong
power band.  I got this information from TA Performance.  They are a big
Buick motor outfit in AZ.  They say I can get the torque up to 300 ft-lb
pretty easy.
I like turbo motors and this one will have enough low end torque to cool
tires any time/any speed and not so much turbo lag - it will have a bit.
And, I like the "coolness"  of a turbo motor.  
To get the "coolness" factor out of a non-turbo motor, I thought about using
2 side draft Webers mounted to a 4 barrel intake with the carbs sitting
across the valve covers.  I don't want the typical 650 Holley look for this
custom
So, in a 2000# Roadster is 50 more HP worth it?  Always interested in
hearing the varied thoughts of cool Roadster folks.
