| Yes, it's OT, but I'm relying on the wide & varied knowlege of the list
here...
Got an old "tiny block" flat-head Ford here (100E) that has been sitting
awhile - we're in the process of doing a basic break-down/ inspection /
freshen things up if nesecessary. Of the many cars we've played w/ in this
house, this is the first to have babbit bearings on the rods.
Q: What is the usual inspection method for the rod bearings ? Can these be
taken apart and put back together as with a regular "shell" bearing? Is it
wise just to leave them together? ( engine *was* running some time ago)
Any thoughts, ideas or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks !
Laurie :-)
