I know this one... When they were trying to figure out what to name the car,
they were standing 350 feet from the shop building and that's what stuck.
This was per Carrol Shelby, don't know if he was trying to pull our leg or
not. When they up-rated to a larger engine it became the GT500 because it
was a logically larger number.
