What I've heard is that you can't get a bra on tight enough to:
1) prevent rubbing in high winds/highway speeds, and (therefore)
2) prevent dust/particles from getting between the bra and body - like
sticking sandpaper between the bra and your paint! Maybe it works
fine for in town driving..

Sounds like Mike addresses the problem I've heard about, although
making sure it 'remains clean'.... how big of a pain is it to
completely remove the bra to make sure it's clean? And how often?

I certainly have that problem here (sand/salt) - front end is
getting pretty chipped up. If/when I ever repaint my roadster, I plan
to use this clear tape I saw on a '60-something Vette - they they taped
a 2" wide strip around the back/top of the body where the hardtop rests.
I think it's from 3M - a clear tape commonly used around fenders of
trucks. Pretty expensive stuff though.
