I don't understand that. I bet they scammed you. I used non OEM ujoints I
bought on Ebay and had no problems at all when I brought the shaft to be
balanced. I carefully marked the realtionship of the joints and replaced
them myself. I brought the shaft in for balancing and it was still perfect
and I watched them do it. They also explained the whole process to me and
allowed me to watch them balance out a driveshaft they just built for a race
car.
Some ujoints are a bit stronger than others but for the street and our high
HP cars :) almost any aftermarket joints can be used.
BTW, I used the type that can be greased and I used synthetic grease.
