Hi Paul,
I remade mine.  I used a dremel tool and ground out the old rubber from inside
the metal cup washer.  I then cut a replacement washer to size and glued a high
density, neoprene washer inside with blue silicone cement. The washer extends
about 1/8" below the metal edge of the washer.  This will allow some
compression and seal.   I haven't tried them on a running engine yet.  I
suspect they will work just fine.  Conclusion....more time than $$ I guess.
Just another fussy project on my never ending journey.
