cruise control

Hello All,
        Speaking of gadjets......go go gadjet roadster!!!
I have been looking at add on cruise controls andn thinking.... There is a 
new type of cruise control that does not use engine vacuum but uses a electric
servo.  I was thinking that hooking one of these up to the throttle lock cable
-mechanism might work???  
        Has anybody put in a cruise control into their cars or thought about 
it?Anybody have any useful info/ideas on doing this??
