I too was getting tired of the old pitted and ugly looking door and
threshold plates and embarked on a polishing frenzy. Quite frankly steel wool
takes forever and a day so I used a 2in fine wire wheel in a drill and went
at it. Used quick passes till the aluminum was nice and shiny. I followed up
with a polish from Master Formula called Metal Gloss. I purchased it at the

This stuff works better than Mothers or any other polish I 've used in the
past but it will take a lot of elbow grease. Like Mike said don't expect
miracles but it will pay off. Pitts will be pitts, can't help that.
