I don't know about the left hand drive Roadsters, but the steering box
worm in the right hand drive Roadsters is the same as the worm in the
steering box from a 1961-1963 Datsun Bluebird (P311 and P312). The
Bluebird steering box looks to be identical at first glance, but if you
look closer you will see that the Bluebird has a smaller diameter sector
shaft, but the worms are the same. The Bluebird steering boxes can be used
on a Roadster if you use the steering arm that the Bluebird box came with,
all the external dimentions are identical, as are the bolt hole locations.
P311 and P312 Bluebirds share quite a few steering and suspension
components with the Roadsters.
