Due to stricter emissions requirements, California
cars had them. These roadsters may have been sent to
other places as well (Canada, perhaps?).
These also have extra plumbing on the air filter
housing. I can't remember the exact setup...something
like 2 small airline attachments on the engine side of
the filter plate for vacuum size hoses. I'm sure it
was at least as effective as the fantastic roadster
smog pump, air injection and timing retard setup! (no
flames, please) :-)
