Mazda MX5 (Miata, I think)

I just read that Mazda are bringing out a new model of MX5 (which most 
people here call a Miata, right?) that will bring it's power up to about 
112kw, IIRC.

So now it's on par with a Solex 2000?

Has anyone here got experiences in taking on these things?  I'd assume the 
Mazda would handle better, but maybe isn't as quick?  I'd never thought that 
I could beat one, but on paper, it's looking possible...
