(OT) Info on Huntsville, AL

I'm considering a job with NASA at the Marshall Space Flight in 
Huntsville, AL, and would appreciate any thoughts/info (off list, please) 
regarding that area. Particularly housing, cost of living and certainly 
auto related activities.
