Hello Adam:    This is deffinatly a problem area on the 1600 as the studs
are steel and the housing is alum. so you have dissimilar metal and
corrosion.  I have broken them  trying to get them off and it doesn't help
that the housing is on the studs it's whole length.  You might do some good
with penetrating oil but I've not had much luck with it.  You can try
heating and cooling it several times, but be careful as alum. doesn't give
much warning before it melts and it melts out in big blobs when it does
melt.  Good luck
