8.8 is a metric designation re: strength like grade 8. BTW, I do believe the
nut is 5/16-18 rather than the 1/4-20 I told Hoon. It seems only the engine
and carburator nuts and bolts are metric on the Roadster.

BTW, my cleaner wing nuts are 5/16-20.
