Wow!!!
I did not know I would get so much attention on this. So I thought I'd
just better respond to the group.
My Dashboard and center console was restored by:

What they do is remove the old crusty, broken skin and foam and somehow
heat & vacuum form new foam and vinyl to match the original look.
I first read about them in autotrders "old car trader" book. They do
alot of late 60's and early 70's muscle cars(and you all know how big
difficult those dashes look)
All in all for the dash, glovebox door,cntr console & lid was about a
$grand. It looks so good its almost worth that... ;)
I did not want to put plastic caps over old stuff, that would not work
for the type of restoration I am doing.
So...Yes it was a little on the $$$ side but what is not for these cars?
