Aftermarket Watertemp gauge

Hello All,
        I have been thinking about installing a high quality water temp
gauge (electric).  I llike the idea of bding able to tell exactly waht the
temp is as oposed to its getting closer to the red line-type temp readings...
Has anybody else done this?? I have a 69 2000 so I was planning on getting 
the smaller type 2 1/16" gauge and mounting it to the underside of the 
dash.
        Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
