On a 69 2000, I have run for about 10 years with:
header, 2" exhaust pipe
(kinked in a few places to clear the frame cutouts)
glasspack about 1/3 of the way back the exhaust pipe,
SuperTrapp muffler on the end.

Exhaust pipe occasionally rattles against the frame
at about 2200 to 2400 rpm

The SuperTrapp muffler is tunable by adding or removing
the number of end plates.
auto-x & hillclimb with about 12 plates
drive around town with only 4 to 6 plates installed
to keep the noise level acceptable.

I'm running a header from Fairlady Products, 2.25" x 8" flexpipe (similar to
what you might find under a FWD car) and 2.25" pipe (squished slightly oval
to fit the openings in the frame) short glasspack and a Dynomax Ultraflow
muffler. Quiet at idle and cruise, moderately loud at full throttle...but
the induction noise is a bit louder. No "bb's in a mayonnaise jar" sound
under deceleration.
