Hey all!-

I'm looking for any advice and insight on my 2L motor. It's a fresh
complete rebuild and has not been run over an hour. On the initial start-up
and on the several following, I had no problems. Oil pressure was good
(around 50-60 pounds @ 2000rpm). On about it's fourth or fifth start and
after sitting for about a month, I began to notice oil in the water. I
don't have it timed yet as each start is a time to find the source of leaks.
So far the leaks have been the water pump (fixed), valve cover(fixed), and a
really slow coolant drip off the very back of the motor (assume it to be the
freeze plug on the back of the block?) . Each startup hasn't lasted anymore
than 5-10 minutes. There is oil in the water, but no water in the oil.
Being hopeful, I retorqued the head this weekend---still have the problem.

What am I missing? The motor barely ran before the rebuild, but did not
exhibit any problems with oil in the water. The oil doesn't show up right
away, but comes to the surface several minutes after shutting down the
motor.

The block was pressure tested by the machine shop, so to be positive, I'm
dismissing the thought of a cracked block for now. My next plan of attack
is to drain the radiator, refill with water and check again. If no avail, I
plan on pulling the head and glueing the head gasket. I would rather not
glue it but don't know of any other possibilities for my problem.

Any advice? I'm sorry this is so long. I plan on pulling this motor and
installing it into another roadster body. I want to get this problem fixed
and get the motor running properly before intalling it into the prepped
body.

Thanks again
Nathan
