I can't remember if the stroke is shorter, but the bore is smaller than
the BMC engine.  The J-13  Head has smaller valves and ports than the
BMCs and the heater valve screwed into the head on the J-13 and bolted
on to the MG (or the other way round).
The only other thing I remember is there is a Mexican J-15 truck engine
also.
