I didn't know gaskets existed. I always spread some blue permatex gasket 
compound on the phenolic blocks and installed the carbs. Never had any 
problems, as the compound isn't affected by gasoline or heat. It stays 
liquid and flexible while keeping the seal intact, and the blocks can be 
removed and repositioned. And it's cheap.
